Ganesh festival on 23rd August

Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the most important and popular festivals in Goa, India. Celebrated by Hindus in Goa, it is an occasion for a get together for the family. Typically, in Goa, most people celebrate this festival at their ancestral home where an idol of lord Ganesh is kept. The idol is kept for anything from 2 to 21 days and during this period, religious practices like pujas are performed. At the end of the period, the idol is immersed in a nearby water body like a lake, well or sea. This signifies the end of the festival in that home and a wait for this next year.

The India (Goa office) will be closed officially on 24th August for the above festival. The rest of the week, there is expected to be thin attendance. Any emergencies received on 24th August will be attended by the respective employee from his/her residence; for the other days, it will be handled by the employees who are present.
